Our Mission

At Carolina Emergency Dental, our mission is to deliver emergency and general dentistry in a warm and friendly environment. We will never judge you and promise to always act in your best interest. Our team focuses on same-day emergency care, but also perform most general dental procedures, too. Whether you’re looking for a new dental home or have a tooth issue that needs immediate care, we’re here for you 7 days a week.

Get To Know Dr. Hysa

After 15 years in North Carolina, Dr. Hysa considers the Tar Heel State his home and has become an avid UNC Basketball fan. He also enjoys a good game of soccer and returning to the beaches of the Outer Banks where he spent a lot of time growing up. A firm believer in giving back to others whenever possible, Dr. Hysa volunteers for the Mission of Mercy Clinics and has traveled to provide dental care at a rural orphanage in Mexico. 

In 2010, Dr. Hysa attended East Carolina University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Additionally, Dr. Hysa is a proud graduate of UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. GO HEELS! Dr. Hysa was accepted to the prestigious Pankey Institute for advanced dental techniques. Throughout his career, he has made a commitment to stay up-to-date on the latest dental techniques. Dr. Hysa has also expanded his skills and knowledge by taking multiple advanced training courses.

Get To Know Dr. Shamah

Dr. Shamah grew up in Baghdad, Iraq, before moving to North Carolina in 2008. He received his undergraduate degree from NC State University with a Cum Laude distinction before going on to dental school at UNC. He chose a career in dentistry because he enjoys the challenge of being caring and social while also being efficient and detail-oriented. Dr. Shamah stays up to date with all aspects of general dentistry by taking advanced training courses yearly. In his free time, Dr. Shamah enjoys playing soccer, hiking, indoor rock climbing, and exploring new cities.

Your first visit

What to Expect

Whether your first visit is due to a dental emergency or you’re looking for your new dental home, you will be treated with compassion and greeted with a warm, friendly smile. Once we get to know you, we’ll examine your mouth and take any necessary x-rays. After your exam, we’ll recommend the best way to treat your emergency or address your concerns. If you feel anxious at any point during your appointment, please let us know. We want you to feel relaxed and comfortable!
